lumique
Light that is computed. Every page is a separate experience of light: caustics, prism, aurora, bokeh, rays, waves. Everywhere you are the source of light.
A Hundred Lights
Twenty-two families of light, one hundred variations. Fractals, lava, neon, tunnels, galaxies, arcs, mist. Here are a few random ones, different on every visit.
Six Lights
These are not pictures or videos: light is computed on the GPU for every pixel. All pages share one mechanism — the cursor, the "sun" and clicks — but each has its own physics.
Caustics
A net of glints, like the bottom of a pool. The cursor reveals the ripples.
I ∝ Σ 1/|∇φ|Prism
A white beam from the cursor splits into a spectrum.
n(λ) ≈ A + B/λ²Aurora
Curtains of polar light and their reflection in water.
h(x,t)=h₀+fbm(x,t)Bokeh
The cursor is the camera's focus. Lights are now points, now discs.
r ∝ |x − focus|Rays
Light through the canopy: volumetric rays with dispersion.
L = Σ(1−occ)·wᵏWaves
Interference from the cursor, the sun and mirrors. A click makes a ripple.
ψ = Σ sin(kr − ωt)/rChaos
The same light, but made of particles: strange attractors — solutions of nonlinear equations you can rotate and change on the fly.
